To Our Valued Clients, Insureds and Associates:

JI takes the concerns and precautions that involve medical information privacy as a matter of common sense and prudent business practice. JI has never sought to compile, market, profile or otherwise use Individually Identifiable Health Information for any reason unrelated to the administration of our clients' benefit programs. We apply the same policies to former clients that we apply to current clients. We may amend our privacy policies from time to time.

The Type of Information We May Collect

We collect nonpublic personal information about your employees through (a) the information we receive from you and/or your employees via applications or other forms, in writing, in person, by telephone, or electronically (such as name, address, social security number, date of birth, marital status, dependent information, other insurance coverage information [including prior coverage], employment information, medical history) and (b) information about transactions with us, our affiliates, or others (including, for example, claims submissions and stop loss/reinsurance submissions).

Information Disclosure

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

We Safeguard Your Privacy

JI adheres to third party administrator policies and procedures for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). All new staff with access to PHI trained at time of hire and then receive additional instruction annually. All existing staff are trained annually. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information to those employees who need to know that information in order to do their job or provide service to your employees. We maintain safeguards to protect nonpublic personal information against unauthorized access and use.
