JI receives PERI-Qualification

JI Companies, an Austin-based risk management and employee benefits company, recently became “PERI-qualified” by the Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI) Data Exchange Program. The PERI Data Exchange is a national database of public sector liability and workers' compensation claims that allows public entities to compare their loss performance and benchmark against the experiences of other jurisdictions.

As a third party administrator, JI plays a key role in the PERI Data Exchange program by electronically submitting claims data on behalf of their public entity and pool clients. This data is used to help public entities and pools improve their risk management programs, make better-informed policy decisions, and better control worker’s compensation and liability costs. The names of public entities and other organizations that participate in the Data Exchange are kept confidential.

“By serving as a PERI-qualified TPA, we look forward to providing interested parties with the necessary resources and metrics to enhance their workers’ comp and liability programs,” commented Greg Womack, Vice President and Program Executive for JI Companies. “The Data Exchange is an asset to successful program management.”

The Data Exchange will also contain public entity profile data, which will be used to group public entities into benchmarking peer groups. PERI has already received workers’ compensation data from more than 1,800 public entities. This represents more than 670,000 claims and over 8.8 billion dollars in losses.
