Association Selects JI to Administer Workers’ Compensation Program
The Texas Association of Counties Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance Fund’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve The JI Companies, an Austin-based risk management and employee benefits company, to serve as the new claims services partner for TAC’s workers’ compensation program. JI will be responsible for claims coordination and administration for the 284 counties and special districts that comprise the Fund membership, representing over $1.2 billion annual payroll and $35 million annual premium. JI will hire more than 20 workers’ compensation professionals in order to service this account.
Since 1991, JI has provided TAC with consulting, brokerage, preauthorization, and ancillary services, fostering a successful relationship that has resulted in JI developing an in-depth knowledge of county business. “TAC has enjoyed a productive, working relationship with JI for over a decade. They understand our needs and the intricacies of county work. JI is the perfect choice in the continuing evolution of our program. JI is poised to help us improve control of claims costs,” said Jim Jean, Director of Program Administration for TAC.
The JI Companies (www.jicompanies.com) administers workers’ compensation, employee benefits, liability, and property coverages for Texas-based self-funded stand-alone accounts and risk retention pools. Clients include hospitals, school districts, corporate accounts, the Texas Council Risk Management Fund and the Texas Water Conservation Association Risk Management Fund.
