York Acquires JI Companies
PARSIPPANY, N.J., – York Risk Services Group, a premier provider of a full range of claims administration and risk management services, today announced it has acquired Austin, TX-based JI Companies. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The JI Companies acquisition is a continuation of York’s commitment in the public entity market, furthering its transformation into one of the leading insurance services providers for governmental agencies in the U.S. Including JI Companies’ clients, York provides services to approximately 4,000 public entity clients nationwide.
JI Companies provides workers’ compensation, liability, property and nonsubscriber claims/risk management services, as well as pool administration to more than 480 public and private self-insured entities in Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska, with a particular focus on public entities. All of JI Companies’ employees will be joining York, including its management team, led by Francis Fey, JI’s president and CEO.
“The JI Companies acquisition demonstrates York’s commitment to important markets in Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and the Southwest,” says Rick Taketa, executive vice president, York Risk Services Group, Inc. “With our combined business, we are able to provide a complete suite of risk management and insurance solutions to our customers, whether they are public entities, commercial interests or carriers. And we get to meld the best practices of both organizations.”
“We are all looking forward to joining with York. The two companies have similar corporate cultures and, importantly, similar philosophies that will benefit both JI customers and JI employees,” says Fey. “Both JI and York focus on providing exceptional customer service and quality for the benefit of their clients. With the additional resources available from York, particularly their next generation systems, we intend to continue the improvement and evolution of our products and services for all of our clients.”
Tony Galioto, president and chief executive officer, York Risk Services Group, says “We welcome JI and look forward to coming together as one company. Providing quality insurance services to public entities takes an exceptional service ethic and our shared commitment has made this an easy decision to make.”
